Clean Water for Children in Haiti

In Haiti, children like little Nacheline don’t have clean water to drink. They have nothing but water from a dirty, polluted spring. The only water available to Nacheline makes her sick, and she struggles in her weakened condition just to walk to get the water.

The water she collects with her mother is used for cleaning, bathing and drinking. Because the water is contaminated with bacteria and parasites, Nacheline often suffers with painful cramps from diarrhea and vomiting. Clean, fresh drinking water is something she can only dream about. Across Haiti, countless innocent children like Nacheline are at risk. Most available water sources are unfit for consumption.

They are contaminated by animal and human waste, and even dangerous chemicals. Children are most vulnerable to falling ill from drinking polluted water. Every 15 seconds throughout the world a child dies from a water-related disease.
